When should i secure my newborn or maternity session?

Newborn:

Securing your session while you are still pregnant anywhere between 12-34 weeks is the optimal time. Newborn sessions are recommended between 3-8 weeks old as by this time, your precious bundle will have filled in their skin and have a slightly plump appearance.

Maternity:

This is generally secured once you have passed the 13 week mark & is scheduled between 28-34 weeks gestation. This timeframe is optimal as your bump is at its roundest before it starts descending in anticipation of labour, and is usually prior to any major discomfort or swelling becoming pronounced.

How long does the session take?

Newborn:

Newborn sessions can take between 1-3 hours depending on how settled little one is & if you have any other children being photographed. We may stop frequently for settling, feeding & repositioning during the session.

Maternity:

These sessions are 1- 2 hours long, allowing us to work through a variety of poses and outfit changes. 

CAn my family join in on a session?

For newborn, maternity & family sessions your family is absolutely included in the session if you wish to bring them along.

For cake smashes, family shots will incur an additional fee.

is the dePOSIT amount deducted from my final invoice?

The deposit is paid upon booking & secures your date and time. This deposit is then deducted from your chosen digital collection.

will i get to choose which iMAGES i want retouched?

After your session, you will receive a private link to preview your images & select which digital collection & images you would like all within the comfort of your own home.

You will then have 7 days to finalise the payment & Kat will commence retouching.

how long will it take before i get my images?

Once you have selected your digital collection & payment has been made, Kat will begin retouching your images.

Your private downloadable online gallery will then be emailed to you between 2-4 weeks after retouching has commenced.

Please note if your chosen collection includes any print products this will be sent out separately and waiting times may vary due to their bespoke nature.

can i purchase prints?

Yes, you certainly can! Kat offers a wide variety of high quality print products such as traditional proof prints, bespoke albums & acrylic blocks.

Kat does have digital collections that include print products, but you can of course purchase these as an add on as well.

Will I get my un-retouched images?

Only the images that are selected in your image collection will be provided. Kat does not provide unedited or raw images. 

All other images that are not purchased will not be stored & cannot be purchased later.

How long do we need in the morning? (for Christenings)

To ensure we capture all the important family & detail shots, 1.5 hours is optimal but a minimum of 1 hour will be required.

We will also need to make sure there is sufficient travel time to the church between home & the start of the ceremony.

do you provide a client wardrobe?

Newborn & Family Sessions:

For newborn sessions, a variety of wraps, blankets, knitted outfits & headbands/bonnets are provided for your baby only. 

As newborn & family sessions are lifestyle focused, you will need to provide clothing for yourself, and any others being photographed in the session as this ensures your personal style is captured.

Maternity Sessions:

You will have access to the client wardrobe & will be able to do 3-4 outfit changes within the 1-2 hour that is allocated for your session.
